Live Gorgeous TV makeup artist and host Jenny Kay shares a quick tip to avoid getting mascara on your skin! See the video below. This mascara how to tip is brilliant! Place a plastic spoon under your lashes while you apply your mascara. It will keep the black stuff off your skin! You could also try a business card or a Post-It note. This trick is especially helpful when you’re doing makeup on other people.
I hope you enjoyed this. See you tomorrow!

Great idea-just makes sense and I like it because it’s simply. Thanks!
I love this! What a great idea. Awesome!
So I have really small eyes, and less eyelid space to work with, can you help me out?
Hi Sarah dear, although I have large brow bones, I have small eyelid space, so I feel you on that one. My best advice is to keep the eyeliner thin, curl your eyelashes, use a lighter color of eyeshadow on the eyelid. And watch this video for a tip to learn how to make your eyes look bigger! Hope this helps and let me know if you have more questions! -Jenny

Do you have any tips to keep mascara off the top of your eyelids? I always get mascara on my eyelids and it is hard to remove if I am wearing eye shadow.

How about using a metal spoon that’s been in the fridge and get rid of puffiness at the same time
make sure it’s clean. my eye got all puffy and irritated when i tried that before.
Any tips on keeping mascara off of your top lid? I have curly eyelashes, sometimes the mascara from the tip of my lashes gets onto my eye lid.
@Shoni, look down slightly if you have big curly lashes, and keep looking down for about 30 seconds until the mascara has dried a little to keep it off your lids!
Awesome advice Abbey, thanks!
that truly was the bomb..thank you so much for that…will be trying it tomorrow
Hi I know you know a lot about makeup so I was just wondering about something. I have naturally blonde hair, so my eyelashes are blonde too. I am a teenager, but whenever i try to apply eyeliner on the top lash, there always seems to be a line inbetween. Is there a way to work around this? I love eyeliner because it really accentuates my blue eyes. Please help? Thanks
Hey @Hannah,
Use a pencil eyeliner and get it right between the lashes, make sure it’s nice and sharp. Then, you can do your regular eyeliner. This should look more natural. Also, if you have blue eyes, try using a bronze liner and brown mascara to make them pop! Let me know if you want an eyeliner sample to try!
Thanks, Abbey
my eyeliner always falls/smears under my eyes! any way i could avoid or help this problem?
Hi Justine,
Great question. Here is a Live Gorgeous video I did to help solve this problem: http://www.livegorgeous.tv/2012/01/05/how-to-stop-eyeliner-smearing/

My lower eyelashes are so short compared to my top eyelashes, is there anyway you can think of for them to grow more or look longer?
I use a blow dryer on low and cool to put on my mascara…make lashes longer and NO smudges…top lashes only….but the spoon works great on the bottom lashes
I love the new glitter eye shadow but what can I use to keep it on so it doesn’t flake off throughout the day/night and end up all over my face? And where can I by the product?
